I have experienced it myself and the fix is not easy but can be achieved if you are consistent. Frozen shoulder is generally characterized by sharp pain that comes out of nowhere, the pain is so intense that all movements hurt and so you stop moving it. The lack of movement then leads to a shortening of the shoulder capsule making movement impossible over time. Here are some tips to help you on the road to recovery:

  1. Move it! All the time, reach overhead in the cupboard, retract your shoulders, walk your fingers along the wall as high as you can
  2. Stretch, stretch all the surrounding muscles, the neck, traps, shoulder, back, chest, biceps, stiffness in the shoulder will affect all upper body and back muscles and further exacerbate the problem
  3. Ice, heat can feel good and loosen up the area before stretching but ice is a natural anti inflammatory and pain reliever, ice for 20 min at a time every few hours
  4. Strengthen , here us where a good personal trainer comes in. Safely strengthen the shoulder because muscle atrophy at this stage is very difficult to come back from
  5. Posture work, focus on postural exercises to help with pain and pressure relief during this time

Good luck, this too shall pass.
